About me

Hi! I’m Kim and I’m delighted to meet you!

I grew up in country Victoria, Australia and have lived in Melbourne for most of my adult life. I was 21 the first time I went overseas, for the Aussie rite of passage of a year working and living in the UK, including back-packing stints around Europe.  I returned home, finished uni and worked for a couple of years as a lawyer. The travel bug was too strong to ignore, so I quit my job and off to Europe I went to work for Busabout as a tour guide. Best couple of years of my life! I made amazing, life-long friends and was paid to travel.

Then it was back to ‘real life’ and eventually working my way from the law into the corporate world, ultimately working as a General Manager at a global recruitment agency, sitting on the Executive Board.  As I approached my 40th birthday, I decided it was time to listen to the insistent voice in my head asking if there might be more. So, I quit my job to take a year out to fully embrace my passions of travel, food and wine. You can read more about that decision here: I quit my job to travel the world

A broken ankle whilst hiking in Patagonia brought my Grown Up Gap Year to a screeching halt (check out the full story here) and sent me home to Port Fairy to rehabilitate. I’m now back on my feet (well, mainly!) and back at work and dreaming of the next trip. Travel, food and wine are still my greatest sources of happiness and I hope to share them with you for a long time to come!
